Study System
- The college follows a semester system of study (except the Dentistry program), with the academic year comprising two semesters.
- Curriculum: Each program has an approved curriculum by the Academic Council and the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Academic degrees and specializations are determined by the regulatory rules specific to each program, approved by the Academic Council.
- The academic plan allows students to complete the curriculum within specified semesters; credit hours per semester do not exceed 30 or fall below 15, except in the final two semesters.
- Students may not continue studying for more than 12 years to obtain their degree, excluding freeze periods.
Performance Evaluation
- Performance in courses is calculated using the credit hour system.
- Student performance is continuously evaluated through tests, coursework, discussion circles, examinations, and any other evaluation methods approved by the Academic Council.
- Student performance in each course is graded using the following letter grades: A, B+, B, C+, C, F.
Support for Outstanding Students
The college gives special attention to outstanding, gifted, and distinguished students in both academics and conduct. It adopts a fair and transparent evaluation method that helps exceptional students receive financial assistance or tuition reductions, and promotes their excellence at national and international levels.
Admission & Registration
- Admission follows the requirements set by the National Council for Higher Education; a student is admitted only after passing the interview and medical examination.
- Direct admission covers all specializations according to the numbers planned and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, and its students are treated the same as generally admitted students in rights and duties.
- A student who has not completed registration may not enter classrooms, laboratories, the library, or training centers, nor sit for examinations.
- Students must register in person at the start of each semester; registration closes one week after study begins, and the Dean may extend it by another week.
Transfer
- Internal transfer: any registered student may transfer between programs within the college, provided they meet the target program's requirements and have completed and passed two semesters in all subjects.
- Transfer from other institutions: students may be accepted from other institutions under the regulations, provided they were not dismissed for misconduct and their certificates are raised for final approval.
Freeze & Resignation
- Studies may be frozen by a request submitted within three weeks of the start of the academic year, with a maximum of four semesters.
- Freezing the first year is allowed only for compelling reasons determined by the college administration.
- After admission and registration are completed, no tuition is refunded, and a student whose resignation is accepted may not re-register except with the Dean's approval.
Absence & Warnings
- A student is warned when absences exceed 15% of a subject's hours.
- A student is barred from the final exam and considered to have failed if absences exceed 25% of a subject's hours, unless the relevant committee decides otherwise.
- A student whose cumulative GPA falls below 2 receives an academic warning, and is finally dismissed after the fifth consecutive GPA-related warning.
Examinations
- The first-round exam is held once at the end of each semester.
- Supplementary and alternative (second-round) exams are held at the end of the academic year, at least fourteen days after the second-semester results.
- Entry to the exam hall requires the college ID, and any student who breaches exam regulations is penalized accordingly.
Tuition Fees
- Tuition fees are set annually by the Board of Trustees and include study, application, registration, and transfer fees.
- Fees may be paid in installments, with the first installment (at least 50%) due during registration and the second before the first-semester exams.
- A student who withdraws within one week of registration may recover the fees after a 20% deduction for administrative procedures.
The Library
- The college has a library of more than 1,200 references and books, plus an electronic library of more than 8,000 books and references across the medical sciences.
- The library is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM; a library ID is required for entry and borrowing.
